Introduction to applying for the 1-year work visa for the first time

The first-time work visa process consists of three parts:

Part I: We will help you with your work permit and visa application letter.

Note: In the first part of the process, you still have to pay attention to ensure that the visa is still within the validity period.

The second part: Bring the prepared materials from the first part of the process with you abroad to process the Z visa (Generally you can go back to your own country or to Hong Kong. If foreigners are still abroad, the materials will be mailed abroad for their Z visas.）

The third part: After the getting the Z visa, return to Shanghai, we will help you apply for the work permit and residence permit visa.

Part II: Our assistance to you with your work permit and visa application letter will require the following materials and processing time: (before leaving the country)

1. One copy each of passport and current visa

2. Individual resume (Chinese language, include post-high school education experience and work experience)

3. Copy of college or university diploma (we offer free translation) (Consulate certification)

4. Provide copy of more than two years of relevant work experience authentication (This proof needs to be provided by the foreign company you originally worked at, the position and type of company needs to be as similar as possible to your current company and position, we can provide samples)

5. Lack of criminal records authentication

Note 1: While providing the above materials, your company can help you make an appointment to do a medical examination in advance. (You will be required to provide this medical report when you go abroad for a Z visa.)

Processing time: approx. 20 working days

Part III: After obtaining the Z visa, our assistance to you in obtaining the employment certificate and residence permit will require the following materials and processing time: (after returning to the country)

1. Passport: original

2. Photos: 5 photos (two-inch, colored, white background, size: 5cm x 3.5cm)

3. Temporary residency registration form: original (you can obtain it within 24 hours after returning from abroad by registering at the local police station)

4. Work permit for foreigners: original (handled during Part I)

5. Medical report: original

6. Labor contract: copy (we can provide samples)
